Under the circumstances, one may detect two systems of remote voting. In certain States, postal voting is only permitted for persons who are out of the country on the date of the election. However, some member States have arrangements for remote voting or postal voting within the national territory. Of these, mention should be made of those systems which follow the “Nordic model”, where remote voting prior to the election date (advance voting) is an important element of the particular election systems.
