The question asked is even narrower, asking rather whether such powers as may continue can be expanded upon. If the caretaker has some continuing powers can it use those powers to extend the powers themselves? In principle the answer must be in the negative. Any caretaker powers held between the end of mandate and the meeting of the new convocation are limited and cannot include power to expand the role of the outgoing Parliamentitself.
