Extraordinary elections of the Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, a local council, a village, settlement or city mayor, or head of village or settlement shall be held in the manner and in accordance with the time frame stipulated by this Code for local elections.
The Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, a local council or a village, settlement or city mayor elected in extraordinary elections shall exercise their powers until a new composition of the council, a new village, settlement or city mayor, or a new village or settlement head is elected in the next ordinary local elections held in accordance with the procedure specified by the Constitution of Ukraine and the Laws of Ukraine.
In the year of ordinary local elections, extraordinary elections of council members or village, settlement or city mayors shall not be appointed and shall not be held, unless the powers of a village, settlement or city mayor have been terminated more than nine months before the ordinary local elections.
The Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea or a local council shall immediately notify the respective territorial election commission of the early termination of powers of a member of the Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea or a local council member.
