Scope of application

In addition to the provisions concerning elections laid down in the Constitution of Finland and the Local Government Act (410/2015), this Act lays down provisions on how to carry out:

1)  the election of members to the Parliament (parliamentaryelections);

2)  the election of the President of the Republic (the presidentialelection);

3)  municipalelections;

4)  theelectionofmemberstotheEuropeanParliamentfromFinland(electionstotheEuropean Parliament).

Provisions on municipal elections in the Province of Åland are laid down in the Provincial Legislation of the Åland Islands.
