(1) The Members of the Folketing shall receive a basic fee, see subsection (2) and a cost allowance to cover the costs incurred in connection with serving as a Member of the Folketing, see subsection (3). Every Member of the Folketing shall be legally obliged to accept the basic fee and the cost allowance.


(2) The basic fee shall be DKK 638,351 per annum (31 March 2017 figures).The basic fee shall be adjusted once annually as of 1 April by the same adjustment percentage as the basic fee of ministers, see the Act on the remuneration and pension etc. of ministers (lov om vederlag og pension mv. for ministre) (3) The cost allowance totals an annual amount of DKK 60,984 for Members elected in Denmark and an annual amount of DKK 81,312 for Members elected in Greenland and in the Faroe Islands.


(4) The cost allowance according to subsection (3) shall not be included in the taxable income. Expenses in connection with parliamentary work, including housing costs, domestic transport and other costs shall be non-deductible from the taxable income.


(5) The amounts in subsection (3) are stated in October 2015 figures and shall be adjusted in accordance with the rules in sentences 3-5 of section 109a(12).
