In some countries, the voting rights of persons serving military service as well as persons in the police forces are subject to restrictions - are not allowed to vote or to be elected. This practice is against the more common approach that avoids the restriction of the voting right of those persons while applying certain additional regulations directed at enabling them to participate in elections without any restrictions.
