Free media are a condicio sine qua non for providing voters with diverse information concerning elections. Thus, it is important that freedoms of expression, media and information are constitutionally and legally guaranteed and not undermined in practice. In fact, in most CoE member states the media landscape is pluralistic, and the media act (relatively) free from undue restrictions.
