In Russia, as well as in Portugal, authorities and officials are prohibited from campaigning. Restrictions imposed on the authorities are sometimes more limited. In Armenia, they only apply to the exercise of their functions (for judges, police officers and military personnel, there is an absolute ban on campaigning). In Georgia, the ban on campaigning applies only to members of the electoral commissions.
