The aforementioned threats interfere with a number of fundamental rights protected at European and universal level by several international declarations and conventions, such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (hereafter UDHR), the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (hereafter ICCPR), the American Declaration of the Rights and Duties of Man, the American Convention on Human Rights, the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union and the European Convention on Human Rights (hereafter ECHR).
