In line with the political agreement, according to the revised draft amendments non-partisan members of DECs and PECs are elected by two thirds of the members of, respectively, the CEC or the relevant DEC, instead of by simple majority. This move aimed at ensuring broader consensus on the composition of election commissions is welcome, as in the case of the CEC.
