Mandatory and periodic nature of elections
1. Elections of the National Assembly and local self-government bodies shall be held periodically, within the time limits prescribed by the Constitution and this Code.
2. Elections of the National Assembly and local self-government bodies shall not beheld during martial law or state of emergency. No earlier than 50 days and no later than 65 days after the end of the martial law or state of emergency, new regular elections of the National Assembly or local self-government bodies not having taken place due to martial law or state of emergency shall be held. The new regular election shall be called upon the decree of the President of the Republic no later than 7 days after the end of the martial law or state of emergency.
