Exemption from the obligation to submit a drug test certificate when registering as a candidate for MP in the 2020 Parliamentary Elections of Georgia and the procedure for submitting a drug test certificate by a person elected as an MP in the said elections


1. In order to be registered as a candidate for MP in the 2020 Parliamentary Elections of Georgia, a person is not required to submit a drug test certificate as provided for by this Law. If, before the entry of this article into force, a person has not been registered as a candidate for MP in the elections only because of the failure to submit a drug test certificate, the chairperson of the respective election commission is obliged to register such candidate within 3 days after the entry of this article into force.


2. A person elected as an MP in the 2020 Parliamentary Elections of Georgia shall, within 7 days from the polling day, undergo a drug test at the facility authorised to conduct drug testing as determined by the CEC under this Law, and submit a drug test certificate within the same time frame to the election commission where he/she was registered as a candidate for MP in the elections.


3. The CEC shall publish on its website the drug test certificates determined by paragraph 2 of this article and the information on the failure of the persons elected as MPs in the 2020Parliamentary Elections of Georgia to submit drug test certificates, within 2 days after the expiration of the timeframe specified in that paragraph.


4. When submitting the documents determined by Article 15(2)(i) of this Law to the Interim Credentials Commission of the Parliament elected in the 2020 Parliamentary Elections of Georgia, the CEC Chairperson shall submit to the newly elected parliament the information on the drug testing of the person selected as MPs in the 2020 Parliamentary Elections of Georgia.
