On 3 March 2023, Mr Tiny Kox, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, requested an Opinion regarding the draft law on the amendment of the German Federal Election Act and its compliance with Council of Europe standards. The Venice Commission and ODIHR assessed the Law as adopted by the Bundestag on 17 March 2023.
