MOLDOVA - Joint Opinion on Amendments to the Electoral Code and other Related Laws Concerning Ineligibility of Persons Connected to Political Parties Declared Unconstitutional
The amendments adopted by the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova introduce a restriction to the right to free elections enshrined in Article 3 of Protocol No. 1 to the ECHR and Article 25 ICCPR, more precisely to the passive aspect of universal suffrage (the right to be elected).
