The Law was adopted with the votes of the majority in Parliament, six weeks after the judgement of the Constitutional Court it was intended to implement and a bit more than four months before the next local elections called for 5 November 2023, with the stated aim to implement the Constitutional Court’s judgment and enforce a preventive mechanism resulting from the unconstitutionality of the political party Şor.
