By letter of 27 October 2023, Mr Igor Grosu, the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, submitted a request for an Opinion on the latest amendments to the Electoral Code adopted on 4 October 2023. This Opinion is a follow-up to the Joint Opinion of the Venice Commission and ODIHR on amendments to the electoral code and other related laws concerning ineligibility of persons connected to political parties declared unconstitutional, adopted by the Venice Commission at its October 2023 session. As this Follow-up Opinion relates to the electoral field, it was prepared jointly by the Venice Commission and ODIHR.
