§ 8. This Code transposes the requirements of:

1. Council Directive 93/109/EC of 6 December 1993 laying down detailed arrangements for the exercise of the right to vote and stand as a candidate in elections to the European Parliament for citizens of the Union residing in a Member State of which they are not citizens.

2. Council Directive 94/80/EC of 19 December 1994 laying down detailed arrangements for the exercise of the right to vote and to stand as a candidate in municipal elections by citizens of the Union residing in a Member State of which they are not citizens.

3. (suppl. – SG 102/18, in force from 11.12.2018) Council Directive 2013/1/EC of 20 December 2012, amending Council Directive 93/109/EC as regards certain detailed arrangements for the exercise of the right to stand as a candidate in elections to the European Parliament for citizens of the Union residing in a Member State of which they are not nationals ( (ОJ, L 26/27 of 26 January 2013) and providing for the implementation of Council Decision (EU, Euratom) 2018/994 of 13 July 2018 amending the Act concerning the election of the members of the European Parliament by direct universal suffrage annexed to Decision 76/787/ECSC, EEC, Euratom of the Council of 20 September 1976 (OJ, L 178/1 of 16 July 2018).
