Regular elections shall be held first two months and no later than fifteen days before the expiration of four years from the first session of the previous National Assembly. In the case of an extension of the term of office, this period shall be counted from the date of expiry of the extended term of office.

Early elections are held no later than two months after the dissolution of the National Assembly.

The term of office of the previous National Assembly ends with the first session of the new National Assembly. The first session of the new National Assembly is considered to be the session at which more than half of the parliamentary mandates are confirmed.
