Eight constituencies are formed for the election of members of the National Assembly. Eleven deputies are elected in each constituency.

Constituencies are formed in accordance with the principle that one deputy is elected for approximately the same number of inhabitants.

When forming constituencies and constituencies, geographical coverage and common cultural and other characteristics must be taken into account.

An electoral district can include the area of ​​one municipality, the area of ​​two or more municipalities, or the area of ​​part of a municipality.

Each electoral unit is divided into eleven electoral districts, so that each electoral district has approximately the same number of inhabitants. One candidate is voted for in each electoral district.

For the elections of deputies of the Italian and Hungarian national communities, special electoral units are formed in the areas where these communities live.
