Day of voting

1. The day on which the election is held is the day of voting in this election (election day). The day of voting in the election (a day of repeat voting) shall be Sunday.

Pre-term local elections, by-elections, first, supplementary local elections shall be held twice in a year, in the last Sunday in March and the last Sunday in October.

If the last Sunday in March or the last Sunday in October, on which the pre-term local elections, by-elections, first or supplementary local elections are scheduled, falls on a public holiday or a religious holiday determined as a day-off in accordance with the labor law, such elections are postponed to take place the following Sunday.

In a year when regular local elections shall be held, all local elections take place once a year on the day of regular local elections – last Sunday in October of the fifth year of the terms of office of local councils and village, settlement, city mayors elected in the last regular local elections.

2. The day of voting in the election shall be determined in accordance with the Constitution of Ukraine and this Code. In the cases determined by the Constitution of Ukraine, this Code or the law, the day of voting in the election shall be determined by the entity calling the election.

3. For certain types of elections, this Code provides for the day of repeat voting.
