Despite the seemingly uncontrollable deterioration of the security situation in the country, the Venice Commission has been informed that the Transitional Presidential Council intends to hold presidential and parliamentary elections in February 2026, in line with its – non-renewable – mandate. It has thus been decided that a constitutional referendum will be organised at the end of March 2025.
