1. An independent candidate may be certified to participate in an election, provided he or she is
eligible to be a candidate under Article 30 of this Law and is registered to vote.

2. An independent candidate may not, in the same election, seek certification as a candidate for
a political party, coalition or citizens’ initiative.

3. An independent candidate may not withdraw his or her candidacy before the certification of
the election results.
