Not only the passport of the citizen of Latvia, but also the identity card of the citizen of Latvia together with a voter certificate shall serve as the personal identification document of the voter in the election of the Saeima which takes place in 2014 and in 2018. Such voter has the right to receive the voter certificate who on 4 October 2014 or on 6 October 2018 accordingly holds a valid identity card of the citizen of Latvia, but does not hold a valid passport of the citizen of Latvia, and who has applied for receipt of the identity card or has received the identity card by 11 September 2014 or by 13 September 2018 accordingly.
