Furthermore, the Commission is of the view that it should be expressly provided that no impeachment procedure may be carried out against a member of the JNE during the period of the election campaign, until after the announcement of the election results and after the resolution of all challenges to the election results. If an impeachment procedure is pending, it should be suspended. This ban should apply to all such procedures, independently of the evidence in support of the alleged offence.
