If election results are invalidated, it is necessary to have an interim solution for the time period until the next elections: either the former office holders will stay in office, or they will be replaced by others; the latter solution is only possible if there is a clear constitutional provision regulating this issue. In any case, the interim period should be as short as possible, but it should allow enough time to organise new elections.
