The regional electoral commission determines for the area of ​​the electoral district how many voters are registered in the electoral roll, how many voted at the polling stations according to the electoral roll and how many voted with certificates, how many voted by mail, how many ballots were invalid and how many votes were received by individual candidates and how many votes individual lists of candidates received.


When determining the outcome of voting by mail, the electoral commission takes into account ballots that arrived by mail at the district electoral commission by 7 p.m. on the day of the vote, ballots that arrived by mail from the Republic of Slovenia by 12 p.m. on the day after the day of voting, and ballots, which arrived by post from abroad by 12 noon on the eighth day after the voting day.


Envelopes with ballots that arrived by mail to the competent electoral commission after 7 p.m. on the day of voting must have a postmark with the date, or the envelopes must be accompanied by documents showing that the ballot was sent to the post office before 7 p.m. on the day of voting.


Ballots that arrived by post at the competent electoral commission after 7:00 p.m. on the day of voting, and whose envelopes are not equipped in such a way that it is clear from them that they were sent to the post office before 7:00 p.m. on the day of voting, are invalid.
