By letter of 12 September 2025, Ms Domnica Manole, President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova, requested an amicus curiae brief of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe. The request refers to certain provisions of the Law No. 294 of 21 December 2007 on Political Parties (hereinafter, the Law on Political Parties), last amended in 2025, concerning successor political parties to political parties declared unconstitutional, as well as measures to limit the activities and dissolve such parties, as well as on the limitation of a political party’s activities as a precautionary measure.
