The legally prescribed average size of the electoral precincts (2,000 registered voters; cf. Article 16.2), is (still) relatively large. Given the high rates of electoral participation and the organisational problems observed in previous national elections, smaller precincts (with about 1000 voters) would surely contribute to pursuing a better “formalisation” of the electoral processes.
