• 1. The members of the Senate are elected for four years.

• 2. They shall retire simultaneously, effective the Tuesday between 7 and 13 June in the year in which the members of the Provincial Councils are elected.

• 3. If the first meeting of the Senate elected after a dissolution falls before the date on which the term of office of the dissolved Chamber would have ended, the members of the newly elected Chamber shall resign simultaneously at that time.
