The provisions laid down by or pursuant to this section regarding the election of the members of the Senate apply mutatis mutandis to the election of these members by the members of the electoral college, unless this section provides otherwise, provided that the following is also read in place of each provision:

• a. "province" or "provinces": constituency outside the Netherlands;

• b. "provincial council" and "states": the electoral college;

• c. "member of the provincial council": member of the electoral college; and

• d. "meeting of the provincial council": meeting of the electoral college.
